Square Altar Dish

Description

This square altar dish was designed to hold small offerings–like seeds, salt, flowers, or incense. It’s the perfect size for shelves, side tables, and window sills.

This piece is made in a nerikomi checker pattern of iron red and white stoneware. Nerikomi is a Japanese technique for layering different colors of clay to create intricate patterns.

This piece is also soda fired! When soda ash is added into the hot kiln, it vaporizes and coats the pieces, making a totally unique glaze. Each altar dish is one-of-a-kind.
