Square Altar Dish (with hole)

Description

These square altar dishes are designed to hold small offerings–like seeds, salt, flowers, or incense. They are the perfect size for shelves, side tables, and window sills. Dishes with holes can be hung up when not in use.

These pieces are made in a nerikomi checker pattern of iron red and white stoneware. Nerikomi is a Japanese technique for layering different colors of clay to create intricate patterns.

These pieces are also soda fired! When soda ash is added into the hot kiln, it vaporizes and coats the pieces, making a totally unique glaze. Each altar dish is one-of-a-kind.
